Tattoos

So, Stephanie, Corrie, Charlotte, Emily, and I all headed to Tattoo Korea for our day of tattoos.

Our appointment was at noon, but as per usual, we were all late. So, we didn't get there til 12:20 and we didn't start until 1 pm. Our tattooist Potter was awesome and tattooed all of us (except for Em who was there are our cheerleader).

Tattoo Korea is an awesome art studio and the owner/founder Aerok was so nice to us! He grew up in LA, so his English was awesome. Potter spoke a little English, but anything major, Aerok was there to translate. There were only foreigners there getting tattooed. Although, when we were there for our consultation, I saw a few Korean guys getting tats. Since we were there until 7 pm, Aerok kept playing movies for us. <3

 So, first up were Corrie and Charlotte for their 선생님 tattoos. 선생님 (seon-saeng-nim) means teacher.

All of our tats were wrapped with plastic to keep the blood from dripping everywhere.

It's so cool~! I love it!

Finally, it was Stephanie's turn. Her tattoo is hardcore-- a cherry blossom branch over her ribs. It took a little over 3 hours.

Anyway, that was our FULL day at the tattoo studio. Seriously, I love Tattoo Korea. All of their artists are super talented. If I have an inkling to get another tattoo while I'm in Korea, I'll definitely come here again~! THANKS POTTER AND AEROK~!

Hongdae 11 pm - 5 am

So, after the cherry blossom festival and the 63 building, I left to meet Corrie and Stephanie in Nonhyeon. We went to the tattoo parlor to set up and appointment and talk with the tattoo artist. Then we headed to Hongdae to kill 6 hours before the subways opened at 5. On the weekends, all subways stop running by midnight (some stop earlier than that), so depending on where you are, you have to make your transfers by 11:30. They don't start running again until 5 am. So, a lot of people just stay out all night or go to a PC/DVD bang and sleep. We went around, had a late dinner at Taco Bell, stopped in a few hofs, then found a 24 hour coffee shop to crash at-- and we weren't the only ones. Half the patrons in the cafe were sleeping. Charlotte met up with us at the cafe and we hung out, which was awesome. Charlotte and Corrie then caught the earliest KTX back to Daegu/Gimcheon, so I went with them to Seoul Station. Then, I caught the bus back home around 6 am.
