So, all the KissMes got together to support the boys for Idol Sports Day. Sports Day is a school festival where different classes compete in sporting events. On Idol Sports Day, different idols are grouped together to form teams, A-L, and compete against each other. Our team was Team D, UKiss and Jewelry.
All the different fanclubs had thunderstix to cheer on their team/idol group. MBLAQ's fanclub was the only one to have plastic hand clappers.
This has been the longest recording I've been to so far. It started a little before 8 pm and ended around 4:30 am.
We were really loud for our boys and even sang them songs. I hope it comes out on the broadcast. ^^ My favorite though was when we sang their song, 0330, at 3:30 in the morning. YAY! We gave each other encouragement and Kevin talked to me for a bit. I hope our support encouraged them after the MBC Gayo fail. They were really upset about it, so I hope this made them feel better. ^.^/
Also, all the members had a sign except for Kiseop. He noticed towards the end, so the staff unnies popped some of the leftover thunderstix and made him a sign. lulz.
Over my winter vacation, I went to the live show MNet Countdown or M!Countdown. We got there around 8 am and put our name on the list for the live show. Then we headed out to Myeongdong. We got massages and trolled for fangoods. Then we headed back to MNet around 4pm. We all lined up around 5 pm and It was a great show. Teen Top was the big act of the show due to their comeback. Most of the fans were for Teen Top. We also saw Boyfriend. We got waves from MC Tony An, Ricky from Teen Top, and a few of the Boyfriend members.
When UKiss was announced, those screams were only Hime and me. I was hoping we would have been louder on the broadcast because we were right next to the boom mics, but whatevs. When we screamed, all the other fans in the studio looked at us like we were crazy. lulz
The major broadcasting companies all have music shows, so they all have an end of the year music festival. We found out that UKiss wasn't going to perform at the show in Yeouido, but in Ilsan. So, there were about 100-150 people there. We got to UKiss, CN Blue, and FT Island.
CN Blue was first. FT Island was next. FT Island was AWESOME! Hongki (the lead singer) was really energetic. He put everything into all 4 takes. Also, my whole foreigner group sang along with him really loud, so he basically sang TO our group. It was awesome. We got so much love~
Everyone felt really bad for UKiss. CNBlue and FT Island both got prerecords, but UKiss had to do their performance live. They came out and did what we all thought was the live. After their performance, they lined up to talk to the fans. But, then the PD was screaming at them to sing. Soohyun realizing that the first performance was just a run through and THIS was now the live, threw himself down on the stage and started singing. EVERYONE was so confused. We felt so bad for the boys because their first performance (what we all THOUGHT was the live) was FLAWLESS. It was so perfect. It was PD's fault and all the KissMe were PISSED. They all sent us tweets apologizing, but the boys are generally positive and they picked themselves up again. ^^
UKiss had two fansignings and I went to both! One was on Monday 10/03/11 and the next was on Tuesday 10/04/11.
They are so adorable. There are plans to have them debut in America, but right now they are promoting in Japan. They're getting a lot of attention and fans, so I'm so happy for them! Their debut Japanese single is A~W~E~S~O~M~E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, back to the fansign account. I am condensing both fansign interactions into one retelling.
Dongho was always the first person at the table and we pretty much just exchanged greetings and then he passed my cd to the next person.
I tried to talk to Kiseop in English on the first day, but it ended in failure. He thanked me for coming which was sweet, but English scares him. On the second day, I remembered that they're promoting in Japan. So, I spoke with him in Japanese. When I spoke Japanese, he was looked so happy. We talked and I told him to be happy and healthy. He asked me if I was happy and I said, "Yes, I'm always happy." And he said, "ALWAYS?" I nodded. He looked impressed.
Hoon is so adorable! He really does try and so pretty much our conversation was him asking me if I liked kimchi, me saying yes, and him telling me that he loves me. ^^
Kevin, Eli, and AJ all speak English and have all lived in the states for a while. We all talked about where we lived in America, what we miss, what we like about Korea, when I'm going back, what I'm doing in Korea, etc. Just shooting the breeze.
Soohyun is the leader of the group and is so positive. He's like a puppy. Anyway, he signs my cd, asks where I'm from and when I answer, he replied "I'm from Korea" :DDDDDDDD lulz.
On October 1st, we all went to see UKiss at a free concert in Seoul called Happy Concert sponsored by TBS.
The major acts of the night were No Brain, Davichi, UKiss, and SG Wannabe.
The middle sections were all people with tickets or the fanclubs. Soldiers took up the seats on either side of the middle section. The soldiers were so awesome. A lot of them got up the courage to say hi to our foreigner entourage. It was really sweet and endearing. Most of my videos are of them flipping out and singing along to all the songs. They were great. I'm glad (and I'm sure they were too) that they were able to get away from their bases and have fun at the concert.
The opening was a traditional orchestral performance, including a shakuhachi soloist and two guys tap dancing to Korean traditional music. It was really cool. Then an opera singer came out and did a stunning performance of "Nessun Dorma" and a saxophone player who played "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You".
